Acceptable Use Policy

Effective October 17, 2026

The short version: StagingLens is for lawful editing and virtual staging of property photos you have the right to use. Don't use it to create harmful, deceptive, sexual or rights-infringing content, or to hide a property's real condition. Review every result and follow the disclosure rules that apply to your listings.

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses the StagingLens desktop app ("the App") and the staginglens.com website.

1. What StagingLens is for

The App is designed for lawful real-estate marketing: virtually staging, decluttering, restyling and relighting photos of properties, and preparing those images for listings and client delivery.

2. Your photos and permissions

  • Only use photos you own or have permission to edit and publish, such as photos you took for a client who authorized their use.
  • Make sure you have any permissions needed for people, artwork, trademarks or other protected material visible in a photo. Where possible, avoid photos that show identifiable people.
  • Respect the privacy of occupants and neighbors. Don't use the App to process private or sensitive images unrelated to property marketing.

3. Prohibited uses

You may not use the App, or images created with it, to:

  • break any law or regulation, or help someone else do so;
  • create content that is harmful, harassing, threatening, hateful or violent;
  • deceive or defraud anyone, including buyers, renters, lenders, insurers or appraisers;
  • infringe or misappropriate anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights;
  • generate nude, sexually explicit or sexually suggestive content, or any other NSFW content;
  • create, request or share any sexual content involving minors, sexual exploitation of anyone, or non-consensual intimate imagery;
  • impersonate a real person or business, or create misleading images of real people;
  • violate OpenAI's usage policies, which apply to images generated through your OpenAI account.

4. Honest property marketing

  • Don't use the App to conceal or minimize defects, damage or hazards, such as water damage, cracks, mold or code issues.
  • Don't misrepresent permanent features of a property, such as its size, layout, walls, windows, doors, flooring, fixtures, views or surroundings.
  • Virtual staging is a marketing illustration of how a space could be used. Furniture, decor and lighting changes should not be presented as included in a sale or as the property's actual condition.

5. Review and disclosure

  • AI output can contain errors. Review every image against the original before you approve, deliver or publish it.
  • Follow the disclosure requirements that apply to you, including MLS, board, brokerage and local rules. Some require a label on the image itself and access to the original photo.
  • Keep your unstaged original photos on file.

6. Enforcement

This policy describes what is and isn't allowed; it isn't a technical filter. If we learn of a violation, we may suspend or end access to the App under our Terms of Service. OpenAI may also apply its own safeguards and policies to requests made with your API key.

7. Reporting misuse

To report misuse of StagingLens, or an image you believe was created in violation of this policy, email support@staginglens.com. Include links or details that help us understand the issue. Don't send illegal content; describe it instead.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated policy here and change the effective date.
